Chrissandra M. Andra, LCSW, PLLC presents Queer Behaviors, an initiative to provide evidence-based behavioral practices to people who are marginalized for their gender and/or sexuality in New York and New Jersey. We consider identity, marginalization, and the struggles caused by systems of oppression through an intersectional lens. Queer Behaviors’ mission is supported by three clinical teams: Anti-Oppressive Practice Team, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Consultation Team, and Research Team. We tailor individual and group therapy to your needs, either in person (in Manhattan) or via telehealth services (available throughout New York State). Making our program inclusive and accessible is a top priority; we offer sliding-scale therapy in the hopes of increasing access to life-saving treatment.
Highlights
– Queer Behaviors‘ therapists have specialized training and experience in the care of queer clients who experience suicidal urges and/or have multiple diagnoses that complicate treatment.
– Comprehensive DBT (including individual therapy, skills group, phone coaching, and consultation team) is adherently delivered such that the program is moving toward Linehan Board certification.
– All DBT therapists are intensively trained in providing DBT and DBT-Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE, the PTSD protocol).
– DBT Skills Groups are 2.5 hours, which is the length of groups that have been studied for efficacy. This is a rare offering in New York.
